“Round 6: The Challenge” premiered on Netflix on Wednesday (22). The show was inspired by the success of the acclaimed South Korean reality show series. In it, 456 participants from different countries fight for the highest cash prize ever awarded in a program. Behind the scenes, however, several controversies dominate the production.
The games played by participants are similar to those of the globally successful series. Those who are eliminated are carried away in coffins. The winner takes home $4.56 million (approximately R$23 million). The losers leave the reality show without a cent.
The reality of “Round 6” is surrounded by controversy
Three people required medical attention during the recording. According to Netflix, there were no serious injuries. The famous doll from the game “Red Light, Green Light” is also part of the attraction.
Despite its huge success, the reality show “Round 6” has faced some controversy. This is because participants report physical and psychological abuse behind the scenes of the recordings.
Brazilian Yohan Tanaka recalled some of the problems he faced while recording the show. According to him, the production had already decided who would be the winner of the attraction. In addition, some participants were boycotted with fake microphones.
However, one of the most serious allegations involves the rape of a participant by someone from production.
