A Hialeah man was arrested last Thursday after he was caught spearing lobsters near the Card Sound Bridge. the Florida Keys Sheriff’s Office reported.
Alejandro Garcia Azcuy, 34, was charged with spearfishing in a prohibited area, collecting lobsters in a protected area, harpooning lobsters, not having a lobster knife, possessing a grouper out of season, interfering with a law enforcement officer, violating the law and several charges charged with boating.
Key Largo Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Farr and a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission agent were patrolling near the Card Sound Bridge around 3:52 p.m. when they observed several people spearfishing.
