Latin press photo BEIJING, Nov 26 – China will promote international cooperation in industrial and supply chains with an international exhibition involving 55 countries and regions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today.

According to spokesman Mao Ning, more than 500 companies and institutions from the Asian giant and abroad pledged their presence.

For the speaker, this shows that maintaining the stability of this sector is “an important guarantee of the development of the global economy and the concern of the people.”

The first China International Supply Chain Expo will take place here from November 28th to December 2nd under the motto “Connecting the world for a common future”.

“Practices of decoupling and interrupting industrial and supply chains serve no one and will not work,” the spokesman emphasized.

He also reiterated China’s position for high-level opening-up and interconnected global trade in a safe, stable, unhindered, efficient and mutually beneficial manner.

China is today increasing its openness to foreign investment at a time when this indicator reached $137.49 billion, down 9.4 percent year-on-year.

The National Development and Reform Commission, the country’s top planner, said the country would appropriately trim its negative list for foreign investment and lift all restrictions on those entering the manufacturing industry.

At the recently concluded Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, President Xi Jinping assured that the Asian giant will open up even more to the outside world and promote the future development of this initiative based on eight key steps.

One of these concerns supporting an open global economy, which includes establishing pilot zones for cooperation in electronic commerce and removing restrictions on foreign investment in the manufacturing sector.
