Noboa presented his Cabinet of Ministers in Ecuador

This is the cabinet with which we will begin the path to the new Ecuador. Youth and experience should work for the citizens, says the Presidency in its report on the social network X.

Noboa added two more names to his team: Arianna Tanca, who will lead the Ministry of Women and Human Rights, and César Martín Moreno for the Ministry of Telecommunications.

However, the decree appointing the Minister of Economy, Juan Carlos Vega, is still pending, and the Andean ruler has not yet appointed the head of the Secretariat of Higher Education.

Last Thursday, on his first day as head of state, Noboa confirmed Gabriela Sommerfeld as chancellor; Mónica Palencia in the Government Ministry; Sonsoles García as Head of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries; Giancarlo Loffredo at the helm of defense; and Roberto Luque in Transportation and Public Works.

In addition, Franklin Palacios will become Minister of Agriculture and Livestock; Andrea Arrobo will lead energy and mining; Sade Fritschi will be responsible for environment, water and ecological change; Niels Olsen, who was head of the tourism department in the previous government, will remain in office.

On this day, Humberto Plaza also received official appointments to lead urban development and housing; Daniel Calderón for the Ministry of Education; Labour’s Ivonne Núñez; Romina Muñoz for culture and Zaida Rovira for economic and social integration.

The newly inaugurated ruler appointed Mishel Mancheno as Legal Secretary of the Presidency and Sariha Moya as Head of the National Planning Secretariat, while Roberto Izurieta will take over the General Secretariat for Communications.

For his part, Arturo Félix will act as Secretary of Public Administration and Gabriela Ochoa Ochoa as Director of the National Customs Service of Ecuador.

Andrés Guschmer, who was appointed Minister of Sports, explained on behalf of everyone that serving Ecuador was their greatest responsibility and at the same time a privilege.

Vice President Verónica Abad was not present at this Sunday’s ceremony and local media speculated about a rift between her and the president, although he denied this assumption.

Last week, Noboa gave Abad the sole role of being a “peace collaborator” in Israel.

The young head of the executive branch took office on the 23rd of this month for a period of just a year and a half, during which he will have to face problems such as the wave of insecurity, the energy crisis and the complex financial situation.

Although their proposals give hope to citizens, there are still those who remain skeptical since the concrete strategy for achieving them is not clear.
