Robert Muñoz found love with Andrea Fonseca. The couple experienced difficult times in the United States and adversity made them stronger. This time, the popular “Clavito” tells us about his relationship, football and whether he would run for Congress again.
-How about the American dream?
I was there for three years and eight months. Overall it was very interesting because there, in Los Angeles, we started recording our last album, it was well received and we came to promote it. At first, like everyone else, it was difficult, especially for the artists, to survive the adversity and the pandemic as there were no events. Thank God I am retired from the police and on a pension and we had income from Apdayc, Sony for royalties and also from our savings, but always with the uncertainty of whether we would return to music.
– What tricks did you use to earn a living?
Almost everything. Luckily I was living in a friend’s house because there were certain conditions for renting and I had to win the homeowner’s heart. It was difficult because no one wanted to open the doors to you in a pandemic. Then we left Philadelphia for California and rented a small room for $800 a month but with a shared bathroom. You had to become strong and move forward.
-How is your relationship with Andrea Fonseca going?
Spectacular. The pandemic has brought us closer together, made us stronger. I think we were two lonely, sad and abandoned people. We had no family there (USA) and had to adapt to the adversities, the culture and the food. I am happy to have rebuilt my life with her.
– Is he the love of your life after several infidelities?
It set me up after the problem I had with my ex-partner for being unfaithful, and it’s not worth remembering. They took everything from me and left me almost nothing. I also had another ex-partner who died in an accident, but I went out with someone else that night. I am married to Andrea, I left Peru, we have a little daughter and she was Miss Peru USA 2023.
-And how did you fall in love with her?
We were work colleagues, she came to work and saw me defeated and sympathetic to my pain, and little by little I think we got to know each other better. That was perfect.
-And will they return to the United States?
We’re still evaluating it because we came for our new production, the launch of three new songs on the platforms, and we’ve had good acceptance. They haven’t forgotten us. It will be a 10 song album and will be ready by mid-May.
– Are you afraid of becoming the target of blackmailers?
Like everyone else, not just the artists, but also the visitors. It’s not just the singer, but also the workers behind it, there are about 50 families. There are also the food vendors at a concert, CDs or the canteen, cigarettes, the one with the banners. They don’t realize that we musicians have suffered from the pandemic and now have to cancel events because of blackmail.
– Would you run for Congress again?
I have no intention of becoming a politician because they practically invited me and the reason why I accepted is simply because I will do it if I can make something of my own with what I have learned and contributed country can do. I was a police officer for 26 years, I was in the Air Force for two years, I have a master’s degree and a doctorate. If it all serves my country, I’m happy, but it’s not like I necessarily want to get into Congress for any reason or advantage.
– Do you think there is a lot of corruption?
At all levels. If there were no corruption, the country would improve, including security. Money gets 100% of the work done, but today money is used for corruption. They thought when the leftists came they would do something, but now Peru is worse and some look like I didn’t go there. No matter how humble their profession, with honesty and zero corruption they can contribute more to a country than many other deeds.
– What do you think of the selection?
I am speaking to you as a businessman, here the results count and if the administration does not cooperate, something must be done together with the coach with the national team, regardless of who is in the head, whether things are going well or badly.
– Have the players already completed their cycle?
I think they contribute quite a lot. I saw that they gave more. I say this as a mortal, not as a player.
– Fan of which team?
From Cristal.
-And what do you think about the blackout in Matute?
This is wrong, it is more disrespectful to football than to the rival; They can even cause a death because people panic.
