Friends of the Prince of Wales last night criticized “outrageous” suggestions he made against his own brother following the latest round of allegations made by the writer dubbed “Meghan’s mouthpiece”.
Supporters rushed to the future king’s defense, expressing their anger and frustration at Omid Scobie “spreading” conspiracy theories “disguised as facts” ahead of the publication of his new book tomorrow.
In excerpts from Endgame, his second book in which he attacks the royal family – as well as in interviews to make this public – Scobie has suggested that William “prioritized his loyalty to the monarchy over his brother” and actively leaked information about Harry and revealed Meghan to undermine her.
Kensington Palace remained silent about the uproar, but the frustration of those loyal to William was clear to see. One told the Mail that Scobie’s portrayal of the heir to the throne was the “exact opposite” of William’s personal mantra.
“He was always very reserved when it came to his family and made it clear to everyone around him that he would not do business with the media,” they said.

“Like Harry, he is scarred by his childhood experiences of seeing his mother and father involved in what was called the ‘War of the Waleses.'” He never wanted history to repeat itself.
“That was something he and Harry should agree on.”
Another added: “It’s one thing to write a criticism of the royal family.” That’s freedom of speech. But it’s another thing to spread conspiracy theories disguised as facts. The suggestion that [royal aides] reported negative stories [about Harry and Meghan] is completely made up. It just didn’t happen.
“The truth is that practically from the moment they got engaged, everyone was walking on eggshells trying to make her happy.”
In his recent interview with the Sunday Times, Scobie breathlessly describes William as a hot-headed, power-hungry man who is increasingly willing to allow the palace to do dirty tricks. Aside from the prince occasionally being prone to the famous Windsor temper, those who know him well say it would be anathema to him.
The author also portrays the Princess of Wales as an underachiever who is too afraid of doing something wrong to stick her head above the parapet.
“This will really upset William,” another source said.
“He is incredibly proud of what his wife has achieved.” “The Princess has been the driving force behind much of her work, particularly when it comes to improving mental health.”

Insiders also claim that a number of significant claims made by Scobie are “just false” and “rehashed.”

Scobie also raises questions about racism and diversity in Charles’ household. He is now accusing two people in royal circles of voicing concerns about the color of Prince Archie’s skin, but claims defamation laws prevent him from naming them.
Questions also remain about the procurement of large parts of the book.
Harry and Meghan have moved to distance themselves from it and Scobie has claimed he is not in the “Sussex camp”, although there are numerous intimate details about letters, phone calls, text messages and conversations between them and other members of the royal family.
Meghan was previously forced to apologize for misleading the Supreme Court by failing to recall emails she exchanged with an adviser to assist Scobie on his previous pro-Sussex book, Finding Freedom help after she previously explained that she had nothing to do with it.
In Endgame, Scobie openly reports on private conversations he had with several employees. And he even boasts about a quick phone call with Meghan herself after she married Harry.
Scobie, clearly angered by the coverage of his book in recent days, ranted on social media that “the distortion of facts and misquotations currently taking place have reached a new level of desperation.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment last night.
