The Laval Rocket lost to the Syracuse Crunch 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at Upstate Medical University Arena.
22-year-old striker Joe Carroll was the only player to score in a penalty shootout, giving his team victory.

It was the second time the two teams met this season, and let’s just say that this time the scenario was very different from the October 28 confrontation, as the Crunch won 5-0.
On Saturday, Jan Mysak continued his good momentum from last game and scored a second goal in as many games, giving the Rocket a 3-2 lead in the second period.
Jean-François Houle’s team was in charge for much of the game, but in the first period it was Syracuse’s players who scored the first goal through Felix Robert.
The Rocket equalized thanks to Riley Kidney, with the 20-year-old using a two-on-one to thread the needle. About six minutes later, Brandon Gignac gave his team the lead with a wrist shot from the slot.
The Syracuse team’s numerical advantage hurt the residents of Laval, as the first cities hit the mark twice under these circumstances. Even with a man advantage, the Crunch scored the equalizer in the third period through Gage Goncalves.
The Rocket will be back in action on December 1st in Abbotsford against the Canucks.
