The heavy snowfall that fell in the Capitale-Nationale on Monday morning disrupted the road network in several locations in Greater Quebec.

Although no serious accidents were reported at the time of writing, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reported “a few dozen” road trips north of the river this morning.

Due to these accidents, several sections of the road were closed on Monday morning. Above all:

- The Laurentian South motorway, between Boulevard Lebourgneuf and Boulevard Louis-XIV
- Highway 40 East, at Route Jean-Gauvin
- Highway 20 East, at Route 116 (Route des Rivières)
- The Laurentian Highway North, between Highway 40 and Boulevard Lebourgneuf
- The Félix-Leclerc West motorway, at Henri-Bourassa Boulevard
By the end of the morning, Greater Quebec is expecting between 15 and 20 cm of snow in the highest areas.
However, with the mercury temperature expected to rise to around 3°C, it will turn to rain by midday, which could also cause problems.
However, snow showers could return at the end of the day and overnight.
In addition, more than 50,000 households were without power around 7 a.m. According to Hydro-Québec, the restoration of most of them should take place around 8:30 a.m.
