Dustin Byfuglien has been away from the National Hockey League (NHL) rinks since 2019 and is clearly enjoying his new life.
In fact, the former defenseman – and also forward – has become a professional fisherman, and let’s just say he’s doing almost as well as he did when he played in the NHL. As the TSN network’s Bardown website reports, Byfuglien has been playing at this level for six years now and even managed to sneak into the top 10 rankings twice in the league’s various competitions called Champions Tour.

However, he hasn’t managed to get his hands on a trophy yet.
As a reminder, the 38-year-old retired in 2019 with two years left on his contract. He didn’t show up for the Manitoba club’s training camp, choosing to leave $14 million on the line.
Byfuglien played 14 seasons on the Bettman circuit, scoring 177 goals and 348 assists for 525 points in 869 games for the Winnipeg Jets (formerly Atlanta Thrashers) and Chicago Blackhawks franchises.
