Distribution on social networks

The 14,000 people who managed to snag a ticket to the Bell Center are at risk of being joined by thousands of others on social media, where the ceremony will be broadcast via the Cowboys Fringants Facebook page starting at 7:30 p.m. “A decision and a will of the family,” commented Ewan Sauves, press secretary to the Quebec premier. The free tickets were sold out just a few minutes after the box office opened last Thursday. The ceremony will also be broadcast on a screen outside the Bell Center.

A gathering at the Assumption Day

The town of Assomption, where Karl Tremblay lived with his family, organized a gathering on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to watch the national honoring ceremony on a big screen in the heart of Place Karl-Tremblay.

Speech by François Legault

At around 6:50 p.m., François Legault will make a statement to the media. Recall that the Prime Minister of Quebec had proposed a national funeral to the family of the Cowboys Fringants singer, who instead opted for a tribute ceremony.

A ceremony marked by music

The ceremony will take place between pieces by musicians from the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the screening of the film “America is Crying,” in which the group performs 16 notable songs from their repertoire in the great outdoors. Lyricist and guitarist Jean-François Pauzé, great friend and follower of Karl Tremblay, will also speak.

Condolence register

Until November 29th at 11:59 p.m. it is possible to leave sympathies and testimonies to the family of Karl Tremblay via this condolence register.

An outcry for the resale of free tickets

Faced with tickets being resold for up to $500 by ticket selling sites and individuals on social media, Marie-Annick Lépine was quick to share her disagreement on her Facebook page. “Out of respect for Karl, I don’t want anyone to buy the tickets that are currently selling for $500.” Tickets were not available Monday morning on vols.ca, stubhub.ca and 514-billets.com.

Karl Tremblay died of prostate cancer on November 15 at the age of 47. The announcement of his departure caused great emotion in Quebec.
