Foreign ministers from NATO countries will meet in Brussels on Tuesday (1:30 pm) for a two-day meeting. Discussions at the defense alliance headquarters will focus, among other things, on the situation in Ukraine and ongoing preparations for the anniversary summit in Washington next year. The three-day summit in July aims to celebrate NATO’s 75th anniversary.

The deliberations are being overshadowed by growing frustration that Turkey has not yet given its consent to Sweden’s admission to NATO. Stoltenberg said in Brussels on Monday that he hopes there will be a very clear message on the matter to Turkish Minister Hakan Fidan at the foreign ministers’ meeting. This means that Turkey must quickly complete the ratification process.
