A pedestrian was hit by a car in Charlesbourg – Le Soleil

Around 7:10 p.m., 911 was contacted about a car that had struck a pedestrian. The septuagenarian was crossing Henri-Bourassa Boulevard at the intersection of Rue des Roses when he was hit by the southbound car, explains Sandra Dion, spokeswoman for the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ).

Only a driver and a pedestrian were involved in the collision. A snow plow tractor was stationed near the scene of the accident to protect the victim from another accident.

Officers found the man on the ground, conscious but with a significant head injury. He was quickly transported to a hospital where they feared for his life.

After the collision, a snow removal tractor parked in the middle of Henri Bourassa Boulevard to protect the collision site from another accident.

A diversion has been set up around Boulevard Henri-Bourassa from Rue des Roses to Rue des Chardonnerets. The SPVQ has set up a security perimeter around the scene of the accident to conduct an investigation should the victim succumb to his injuries.

Road traffic could be disrupted for an indefinite period, the SPVQ states.

The SPVQ blocked traffic on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard indefinitely.
