BEIJING – The White House, the Pentagon, American bases and even Rome. North Korean propaganda has continued for days to flaunt the capabilities of the new spy satellite that Pyongyang launched last week, claiming that Kim Jong-un’s new gem is doing its duty by taking and transmitting photos of sensitive locations. However, so far there is no confirmation as to whether the satellite is truly operational, and North Korea has not yet released any images of its new satellite.
“Esteemed Comrade Kim Jong-un has seen satellite photos of Rome, Italy, taken at 17:56:28 on November 25 (Pyongyang time), and Andersen Air Base, taken on November 27 at 09:17:07 It was taken over Guam in the Pacific and pilot satellite images from other regions,” writes the regime’s official news agency KCNA. “It also obtained detailed satellite photos of the Norfolk Naval Station, the Newport News Dockyard and an airfield in Virginia, USA, taken on November 27 at 23:35:53, as well as the White House and the Pentagon in Washington and other objects at 23 :36:25 p.m. on November 27th.
Seoul: Moscow helped North Korea launch a spy satellite

In the photos – the KCNA continued – “four US Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and one British aircraft carrier were spotted.” Already last week, regime media claimed that Kim had inspected photos of the American bases in Andersen, the port of Apra “and others on the territory of the island of Guam.” Seoul and Tokyo have confirmed that the satellite entered orbit correctly, but reserve the right to continue investigating whether it actually works, given the North’s loud propaganda. Pyongyang has a long history of incitement when it comes to satellite claims.
Under the leadership of Kim Jong-il – the current leader’s father – North Korea claimed to have put satellites into orbit that broadcast revolutionary songs. However, according to Western experts, these satellites soon crashed, disintegrated and landed on the bottom of Earth’s orbit in the sea. The conflict with the USA is not letting up. In a rare appearance at the United Nations, North Korean Ambassador Kim Song addressed US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield directly: “A warring party, the United States, is threatening us with a nuclear weapon.” It is for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – as another belligerent—legitimate to develop, test, produce, and possess weapons systems equivalent to those the United States already possesses or is currently developing.”
“If there is anything the United States wants to give to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, it is humanitarian aid to its people, not weapons to destroy them,” Thomas-Greenfield said. After the launch of the spy satellite, tensions on the Korean peninsula rose again. Seoul had announced the partial suspension of the 2018 inter-Korean agreement. This agreement no longer applies in full to Pyongyang. Kim announced that he would begin using weapons along the border again. Yesterday, the South Korean army said the North was sending soldiers and equipment to the Demilitarized Zone, apparently in an attempt to restore some guard posts destroyed after the 2018 deal. Posts that were used for surveillance, precisely in line with the agreement of five years ago, were destroyed (on both sides) to try to reduce tensions.
