“When he arrived in Gaza, he was beaten by civilians,” “he was beaten,” even though “he is a 12-year-old child,” she lamented.
Young French-Israeli Eitan Yahalomi, 12 years old, one of the Hamas hostages released on Monday evening, experienced “horrors” during his captivity in Gaza, his aunt testified on BFMTV on Tuesday, November 28, referring to to the beatings of the Palestinians against him “civilians”.
Earlier on Tuesday, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna suggested on RTL radio that the three released French minors appeared to be doing well physically, while speaking of the “psychological shock” associated with the long detention.
“I wanted to hope that Eitan would be treated well. Apparently not. They are monsters”
“Eitan experienced terrible things there,” said Deborah Cohen on BFMTV. “When he arrived in Gaza, he was beaten by civilians,” “he was beaten at the entrance to Gaza,” even though “he is a 12-year-old child,” she complained, based on a conversation with his nephew’s mother. “Hamas forced him to watch the abuses committed and filmed by its fighters on October 7,” she said. “Every time a child cried, they threatened them with a gun to silence them,” Ms. Cohen continued.
“I wanted to hope that he (Eitan) would be treated well. Apparently not. “They are monsters,” said his aunt. “Yesterday we were so happy (with his release). But now that I know this, I’m worried. “His father is still there,” she confided. “How can you feel good after an experience like that? He still has a long way to go,” she added. “He is a quiet child. It will take some time to let your feelings out.”
Franco-Israelites Erez and Sahar Kalderon, 12 and 16 years old, and Eitan Yahalomi, 12 years old, arrived in Israel on Monday evening as part of the ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian Islamist movement.
They were among around 240 people captured in Israel during the October 7 attacks, 50 of whom have been released so far. About 150 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons have been released as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
