It’s almost time for the Dancing With the Stars finale! During Tuesday night’s semifinals, the remaining five couples each danced two full numbers – a Latin number and a standard number. Emotions were running high as everyone was desperate to make it to the final next week.
During the episode, Jason Mraz admitted that he really didn’t want to move on “a few weeks ago.” “I wanted to throw in the towel,” he said Tuesday evening. “I’m so glad I didn’t.”
After his first dance, he told co-host Julianne Hough that although he wanted to leave, he would never give up on his partner, professional player Daniella Karagach: “My partner is great. She wants to be here, I want to be here.”
The dancers weren’t the only ones emotional either. After Xochitl Gomez’s ballroom dance, Derek Hough got embarrassed when he noted that this season’s contestants are competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy – and that Len would have loved that routine. Carrie Ann Inaba also cried and told Gomez, “You really touched my heart. It transported me to another world. I felt like I never wanted it to end, and that’s so rare after 32 seasons.”
Both Alyson Hannigan and Ariana Madix began crying at the end of their second dance, telling their respective partners how much they deserved to be in the finals.
At the end of the evening, the co-hosts revealed a big twist: for the first time ever, all five couples will dance in the finale. Tuesday night’s results – scroll below for individual results – and the votes carry over to the final.
