An all-dressed special with FouKi

FouKi will present some of his new pieces on Saturday and share the stage with almost a dozen artists, including Guy Jodoin, in the Télé Québec special FouKi everything garnished.

In mid-November, the rapper surprisingly released a new collaboration album, RAP CLUB. This latest project sees him cross verses with Greg Beaudin, Eman, Avril Jensen, Mindflip, Vendou and Souldia, among others, all of whom have agreed to join him on his TV special on Saturday.

Through the performances, the dangers behind the scenes, the arena corridors and the elevator interviews, we will witness FouKi in full rehearsals of a “new show” directed by its fictional and flamboyant director Guy Jodoin, whose personalities are sometimes diverse. His friend and chef Oli will be in charge of the canteen and introduce certain guests “so that it is FouKi, everything garnished, whatever,” the main person concerned underlined with a broad smile during an interview with the QMI agency.

“It’s good because it’s not just a music show,” added the MC, who will also revisit his hits “Copilote” with Jay Scott and “Bijou et Ciel” with Ariane Moffatt in the hour-long special.

“It was also really fun getting to know Guy Jodoin, who is very open to this type of project,” he continued. The two men, who gave each other a friendly nickname “FouGuy” during filming, also filmed together on Bruno Blanchet’s series La mélancolite.

A return to basics

Even though the two releases were not initially closely linked – the production was unaware that FouKi would release a joint album – the television format fit well with the atmosphere of conviviality that FouKi wanted to create with RAP CLUB.

“I’ve always been in music groups or rap collectives. “I wanted to look for a nice selection of artists that I love both personally and musically,” emphasized the ex-pizzaiolo a few days after the publication of his work.

Several features on the album are also due to great encounters FouKi had during the festival season. “There are artists that I’ve looked for without really knowing them, but more like, ‘I really like your music, I have something to offer you, would you like it?’ and mostly ‘It worked.’ he said.

Create a cartoon

FouKi is currently working with his uncle, screenwriter Pierre-Michel Tremblay, on an animated series of which he is the creator. This project will allow him to try a little bit of everything, including writing, dubbing and musical creation.

“It’s fun to put yourself in the shoes of the characters, remember each of them and who says what. “Each character has their own color in a certain way,” argued the rapper, who almost always collaborates with his uncle in the development of his TV projects.

He has also made no secret of his interest in gaming, although he admits to being picky about his plans. “I have to try. I don’t want to feel like it’s a chore. I’d really be more open to Les Boys 8 than STAT, let’s say,” he said.

FouKi will give its last concerts before Christmas and then take a break until summer. He is currently not planning a tour with RAP CLUB, but certain tracks from the album should definitely be included in the next show.

FouKi tout garni will be presented on Télé-Québec on Saturday at around 8 p.m. and can then be viewed on telequebec.tv.
