An injury that will hurt the Golden Knights tremendously

The Vegas Golden Knights will have to test the strength of their defensive brigade in the coming days as guard Shea Theodore will be out for several weeks following upper body surgery.

After missing the defending Stanley Cup champions’ last three games, the 28-year-old defenseman remains in the hospital as he is limited to 55 games in 2022-2023. His name was added to the cripples list last weekend. His head coach Bruce Cassidy will have to adjust his training, especially since Alec Martinez (lower body) is also on the ground. A support like Alex Pietrangelo, who played more than 28 minutes in the game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, should benefit from a lot of playing time.

This season, Theodore has collected four goals and 14 assists for 18 points in 20 duels, with a differential of +2. Luckily for the Knights, their advantageous position in the table gives them some room to maneuver. They are one point ahead of the Vancouver Canucks at the top of the National Hockey League’s Pacific Division.
