RAMALLAH, Nov 29 (Portal) – Four Palestinians, including an 8-year-old boy and a 15-year-old man, as well as two senior militant commanders, were killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank town of Jenin on Wednesday, the official Palestinian news agency said WAFA.

“The two children Adam Samer Al-Ghoul (8 years old) and Basil Suleiman Abu Al-Wafa (15 years old) were shot dead by occupation forces in the city of Jenin,” the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

The Islamist movement Hamas claimed Al-Wafa as a member.

An unconfirmed video circulating on social media appeared to show the eight-year-old being beaten, but it was not clear from the footage who fired the shot.

When asked to comment on the footage, the Israeli military said: “Earlier today, during IDF activities in the Jenin camp, several suspects threw explosive devices at IDF soldiers. The soldiers responded to the suspects with live ammunition and hits were recorded.”

The raid on Jenin camp, one of the most active centers of militant activity in the West Bank, which was heavily damaged by a major Israeli operation in July, left behind mountains of smashed rubble and damaged homes.

WAFA said Palestinians Muhammad Jamal Zubaidi and Wissam Ziad Hanoun from Jenin camp were killed by Israeli forces, adding that “occupation forces took away their bodies.”

The Israeli army said in a statement that Zubeidi and Hanoun were killed during “anti-terrorism activities in the Jenin camp” carried out jointly by the military, the national security agency and the border police.

Zubeidi was a senior Islamic Jihad operative and a key leader in the Jenin camp, the army said.

The Israeli military said he was involved in extensive militant activity, carrying out shootings and encouraging other attacks.
