Some details about the XC90

“The Volvo XC90 was the first plug-in hybrid sold worldwide. Launched at the end of 2015, it has since evolved to offer more power, luxury and 100% electric autonomy,” explains Car Guide columnist Antoine Joubert.

The mid-range SUV uses an 18.8 kWh battery and can therefore travel 53 km in electric mode. The 2-liter four-cylinder with turbo and supercharging is accompanied by an electric motor and thus provides all-wheel drive.

“At the end of its career, the XC90 has the advantage of offering a towing capacity of 2,250 kg (4,960 lb). Marketing will take place until mid-2024 [au] moment when the EX90 comes onto the market – a 100% electric SUV – which will be its successor.”

Antoine’s advice and the rally

This week Antoine talks about the availability of electric vehicles. Not surprisingly, drivers have to wait an average of one to two years. Even as Quebec works to increase the number of electric vehicles on the roads, the province accounts for 2.5% of the North American market. In the meantime, consumers can sign up for waiting lists or purchase a transitional vehicle.

The 100% electric rally ends with a stop at the Great Canadian Bungee, where Charles Hamelin will jump from a height of 200 feet. This is the highest bungee jump in the country. It will also be an opportunity to take stock of the adventure.
