While the president of the Fédération des cégeps mentioned on Tuesday that it was possible that CEGEP students would have to come to class between Christmas and New Year in order to resume classes canceled due to the strike, the Minister of Higher Education, Pascale Déry, has now also commented There is a possibility that missed courses will be rescheduled.
New strike days are planned for the Common Front from December 8th to 14th, involving all public CEGEP teachers, in the middle of the final exam period.
The minister says she understands the students’ concerns.
“All options are on the table to minimize the impact on students’ journeys and success,” she wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that courses and exams will be postponed.”

The minister also points out that she should take stock of this situation soon.
The president of the Federation of College Education indicated in an interview with Le Journal on Tuesday that in the event that courses and exams are postponed, several scenarios could be considered, including resumption in early January or during a return to classes between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
