Cher has revealed the age she would return to if she could “turn back time,” and it’s probably not what you expected.
In a new interview with the “Today” show, the pop star opened up about the realities of aging and discussed the 25th anniversary of her 1998 hit “Believe.”
While other celebrities embrace their advancing years, Cher, who is known for pushing age-normative boundaries in fashion and even in her romantic relationships, had a hilarious reaction to reaching another milestone.
“How amazing is it that ‘Believe’ is 25 years old?” “Today,” Harry Smith asked the Grammy winner, to which she jokingly replied, “It’s not that great, okay?”
Cher, 77, added: “Stunks me – it drives me crazy… It’s just like: What is this?!”
“So you and your old man aren’t friends?” Smith then asked.
“NO!” she replied quickly. “My mother [Georgia Holt] I didn’t mind, but I did. I hate it… I would give anything to live to be 70 again!”
Speaking to The Guardian in 2020, she kept the topic of aging back to the point, calling the experience “not that much fun.”
“What, I’m going to say I like it? No, I will not do that. “Any woman who’s honest will say it’s not that much fun,” Cher, then 74, admitted. “When I was on the road, we would play two shows a night and then go dancing all night long.”
But these days, “it’s like we need to rest because we have one more night.”

She added: “Also, I don’t like going out now because everyone has a camera and it’s not safe. People are rushing you and you don’t know if they’re going to kill you or take your picture. Either way, I don’t like it.”
Despite her candid words about getting older, Cher tweeted a cheeky message on her birthday in May about not feeling quite “old” yet.
“Ok, will someone please tell me…when am I going to feel old,” the star of The Witches of Eastwick. tweeted. “This is ridiculous. I keep hearing these numbers, but I honestly can’t understand them.”
