The section between Nueva Numancia and Valdecarros was reopened on October 14, while the connection between Sol and Nueva Numancia was restored on September 27. However, Atocha station remained closed for works related to the future arrival of the diagonal line. to the central railway junction.
The station has been closed since June 24 last year for work on the controversial extension of the L11 between Plaza Elíptica and Conde de Casal, which will connect the north and south of the capital and will involve 880 trees. It has an estimated value of 500 million euros and will be 6.9 kilometers long.
