Alec Baldwin was spotted smiling while collecting bagels in New York, just a day after the actor reportedly settled a legal dispute with the family of a dead Marine.
As reported Wednesday, Baldwin, 65, has reportedly settled a $25 million defamation lawsuit with the sister of a Marine killed in Afghanistan after publicly shaming her for her participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots had.
But the actor’s lawyer denied the claim, telling : “Mr. Baldwin has not made any payment to settle this case.’
On Thursday morning, the actor was spotted strolling through Greenwich Village after breakfast.
He stopped to chat casually with a couple on the street – and seemed to be in a good mood.

The 65-year-old actor has reportedly settled the defamation case against Rylee McCollum’s family
Baldwin previously donated $5,000 to the Marine’s family GoFundMe, which was started by the Marine’s sister, Roice McCollum, who is seen holding a picture of her late brother
Journalist Emily Miller reported that the 65-year-old actress settled the defamation case against Rylee McCollum’s family.
The family’s attorney, Dennis Postiglione, told Miller: “My clients are pleased that this matter is over. They look forward to moving on without Alec Baldwin in their lives.”
But Baldwin’s lawyer told : “Mr. Baldwin has not made any payment to settle this case.’
Lawyers for both parties declined further comment. Family members also said they could not speak further about the case.
McCollum was among the soldiers who died in the bombing of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.
Baldwin had donated $5,000 to the Marine Family GoFundMe, which was started by Roice McCollum, Rylee’s sister, before learning that she took part in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.
The actor then bombarded her with messages and later posted her Instagram handle to his millions of followers to tell her “good luck.”
Roice had posted a carousel of three photos from when she took part in the riot, none of which showed her face. One showed another woman wearing a MAGA hat.
In the comments section of a photo on Roice’s Instagram, Baldwin wrote: “Are you the same woman I sent the dollar to for your sister’s husband who was killed in the withdrawal from Afghanistan?”

Baldwin said it was “ironic” that she was a rioter when her brother, seen here, died fighting for the country
In a private message to Roice McCollum, Baldwin said, “When I sent the dollar for your late brother out of genuine respect for his service to this country, I did not know that you were a January 6th rioter.”
Roice McCollum disagreed, saying she was not involved in the riots and was never accused of any crimes during the chaos.
She said she was interviewed by the FBI, who cleared her of any involvement and told Baldwin: “Protesting is completely legal in the country and I have already sat down with the FBI.” Thank you. Have a nice day!’
However, that didn’t stop the 30 Rock actor from commenting in a direct message.
Baldwin then replied, “I don’t think so.” Their activities led to the unlawful destruction of government property, the death of a police officer, and an attack on the certification of the presidential election.
“I reposted your photo. Good luck.’
Publicly, Baldwin said it was “ironic” that she was a rioter when her brother died fighting for the country.
He then responded to her name in the comments section of his own Instagram post, revealing her name to her 2.4 million followers.
Roice was inundated with abuse from trolls, some of whom told her her brother – who was due to become a father after his death – deserved to be murdered.
“Get raped and die, worthless bastard (kiss emoji). “Your brother got what he deserved,” one commenter wrote, according to the lawsuit.
U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos previously dismissed the lawsuit against Baldwin on the grounds that his comments were protected by the First Amendment

Within 20 minutes of Baldwin’s post, Roice received “hostile, aggressive and hateful messages from his followers,” the lawsuit says.
She posted one on her feed that Baldwin found “disgusting,” but she claims he knew what he was doing with his original post.
U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos previously dismissed the lawsuit against Baldwin on the grounds that his comments were protected by the First Amendment.
Judge Ramos had given the family until September 12 to file a revised complaint.
The application was also previously rejected on the grounds that it was filed in the wrong state of Wyoming and not New York.
