Mildness returns at the end of the week, with temperatures rising to 8 degrees in southern Quebec, while a period of snow is expected in northern areas of the province.
The corridor between Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Saguenay could see up to 25 centimeters of snowfall.
Snow showers are also expected on the north coast, where 10 to 15 centimeters could accumulate with temperatures above freezing.
In Montreal and surrounding areas the weather will be cloudy with gusts of 40 km/h, but temperatures will rise and climb up to 6 degrees.
Central areas of the province could see some showers due to cloud cover, particularly in Quebec, with light snow ceasing at times in the afternoon.
The mercury won’t be crazy in this region this Thursday, but the temperature could reach 3 degrees or even higher in places, according to Environment Canada.
The same scenario is expected in eastern Quebec, where some sections will still experience strong winds with gusts of 50 km/h.
Despite some localized showers due to the onset of a low pressure system, Friday will see mercury levels continue to rise.
The federal authority predicts pleasant temperatures of up to 8 degrees in Montreal and 6 degrees in Quebec at lunchtime.
