Republican-elect George Santos, who has a record of repeated lies and is accused of financial crimes, denounced on Thursday the “relentlessness” of members of the US House of Representatives who want to expel him.

New York state elected official George Santos has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of defrauding his donors and money laundering and electronic fraud. On the other hand, he admitted to inventing entire periods of his life, from university studies to professional experience in major banks.
“If I go, they win. If I leave, the bullies will take my place. It is relentlessness,” George Santos said during a press conference in front of the Capitol in Washington, home of Congress.
“Every time they persist for different reasons,” he fumed, saying they “fight” to “defend themselves” and “dispel all the accusations.”
On November 17, Republican-majority House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest filed a motion to expel George Santos, deeming him “unworthy to serve as a member” of that institution.
Earlier this month, a previous expulsion motion was rejected because it did not receive the required two-thirds majority of MPs present. But after the House Ethics Committee released a report that accused it of “seriously discrediting” the institution, many elected officials said they were ready to change their minds. The new vote should take place soon.
According to the commission, the elected official “attempted to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his candidacy for his personal financial gain” and “constantly lied to his constituents, his donors and his team about his past and experiences.”
According to the report, the elected official used the embezzled money at the luxury store Ferragamo, at a casino, for cosmetic treatments using “Botox” and on the platform OnlyFans, where users can share their sexual videos and photos.
George Santos responded by calling this text a “political slander” while assuring that he will not run for a new term in 2024.
