Seen from elsewhere – The head of the Russian NGO Memorial doubts the effectiveness of Western sanctions against Russia and says it will take a generation to defeat imperialism in his country.

A year ago, Oleg Orlov said that peace at any price could be disastrous. “A fascist and victorious Russia will inevitably become a serious threat to the security not only of its neighbors but of all of Europe,” he concluded in his article “They Wanted Fascism, They Got It,” published in French in November 2022. Newspaper Mediapart. A year later, the veteran Russian activist was judged for this article by the system of “feudalism and corrupt state capitalism” he denounced, namely Vladimir Putin’s regime.
