Damascus, November 30 (Prensa Latina) Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Mekdad today argued that the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli occupier were sponsored by the United States and its allies in NATO.
Washington and other Western governments rushed to defend Israel by making false excuses for their crimes and making them complicit in the aggression against Gaza, the foreign minister said in a message to the committee responsible for the exercise of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people people is responsible.
According to the head of Syrian diplomacy, these brutal practices of Tel Aviv are the result of its existence based on colonial ideology, the logic of apartheid and the continuous expansion of settlements, the expulsion of the Palestinian people and the confiscation of their property.
He pointed out that the Zionist regime is once again demonstrating its barbarism and racism by destroying hospitals, schools, places of worship and homes.
Israel dropped 40,000 tons of explosives against Gaza, equivalent to the destructive power of three atomic bombs of the type it dropped on Hiroshima in Japan, the Chancellor said.
He regretted that the United Nations had failed to find a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that would return rights to their rightful owners.
On the other hand, he reiterated that Syria strongly condemns the barbaric aggression against Gaza and denounces all attempts aimed at presenting distorted and misleading interpretations of the Charter on the right to self-defense and equating murderers with the victim.
“We demand that the occupying power be held accountable for the crimes it has committed and continues to commit against the Palestinian people,” Al-Mekdad stressed.
At the end of his letter, the Syrian minister reiterated his country’s firm support for the Palestinians and their right to self-determination and return, as well as to the establishment of an independent state in all the occupied territories with Jerusalem as its capital.
