Luis Antonio Rivera, better known as “Yoyo Boing,” died yesterday at the age of 93 after dedicating seven decades to artistic activity as an actor, announcer and comedian, among others.
Throughout his career, he stood out for producing comedy programs without having to resort to vulgarity, such as “Los In-Laws”, which gave rise to “Los In-Laws and the Grandchildren”, together with Rosaura Andreu, Cary Oliver and Membrillo. .

“Yyoo’s greatest legacy is that he taught us to laugh healthily. He never needed rudeness for that,” he emphasized SPOKESMAN the producer Edgardo Huertas, with whom the artist was friends for more than four decades.
Huertas also highlighted the artistic versatility of Yoyo, with whom he spoke about a month ago in a program that discussed his dubbing work as the Spanish voice of both the main character of Bonanza and Superman.
“I saw him well, with his complaints as usual, but very well,” he recalled of the meeting.
Rivera has been part of Puerto Rican television since its beginning in 1954, working on comedy programs and soap operas such as María Lola and Cáliz de Plata. He was also part of the Midday Show.
In the 1970s, he created the show “Mi Hippie I Love” on Telemundo together with Margot Debén, Vicente Vázquez and Rosita Velázquez.
At WIPR Television, where he has worked since the ribbon cutting, he is known for Hora del Niño alongside Titi Chagua, Club 6, alongside Mirna Vázquez, the Lucy Boscana Television Dramatic Workshop, Desde mi pueblo and Puertorriqueñísimo, with whom he visited all the cities on the island.

“When television began, there was mutual respect between us, between (José Miguel) Agrelot, Tommy (Muñiz), Paquito (Cordero), William Agosto and Myrna de Casenave. We artists all respected each other and therefore the audience watching us was also respected. That’s all, respect,” he had commented about his work ethic in a previous interview with this medium.
“He rests in peace now and is certainly already with dad, with Paquito (Cordero) and with Tommy (Muñiz),” said producer Luisito Vigoreaux.

I have always believed that honors are made in life and thank God we had the opportunity to pay tribute to him in front of a large part of his family and friends,” commented Raymond Arrieta on his social networks.
It should be noted that last year’s Television Week celebration was dedicated to Yoyo, who remained active practically until his final days. In the theater this year he took part in the play La Verdadera Historia de Cuca Gómez with his good friend Otilio Warrington “Bizcocho”, with which he performed almost twenty performances in different parts of the island.
