The revolution began in Lima Alliance. With the addition of Alejandro Restrepo, the small squad began to renew its squad for 2024, aiming to win the title on the occasion of Universitario’s 100th anniversary and take part in the 2024 Copa Libertadores.
With this in mind, the Intimate Board has released a total of 10 players and there could be more releases in the coming hours. Names that came as no surprise to some, but to others that caught the attention of the Blue and White fans.
In this note we show you the numbers, performances, injuries and more of these players who will no longer wear the Alianza Lima jersey the following season.

ÍTALO ESPINOZA
The 27-year-old athlete joined the Victorian institution as their third goalkeeper and played just two games, conceding two goals. He had very few opportunities due to the good form of Ángelo Campos and Franco Saravia, who did not clash every time he competed, so his departure is justified.

OSWALDO VALENZUELA
The last time Valenzuela wore the blue and white jersey won’t be for everyone, but it wasn’t his fault as Larriera risked it in the second leg final against the ‘U’ and was substituted after 37 minutes. He only played 17 games and had Josepmir Ballón and Jesús Castillo ahead of him, so his departure is justified.

EDINSON CHAVEZ
The 30-year-old right-back was never able to win the position opposite Gino Peruzzi, even though the Argentine was injured for a long time. In addition, the coaches on duty preferred other players at this position. In this sense and based on the 15 duels he played during the year, his departure is also justified.

ALDAIR RODRIGUEZ
Although “Tigre” didn’t score many goals, he was an important part of the team and managed to become champions twice. However, Alejandro Restrepo’s new plan calls for a striker with plenty of drive and goals, so Aldair’s departure would be justified.
JOAO MONTOYA
Although it is true that the 21-year-old defender had many opportunities with Carlos Bustos, he did not manage to earn a place in defense in 2023, playing 17 games between the Apertura tournament, the Clausura and the Copa Libertadores with the blue and white shirt and that of Cantolao. With this in mind, they decided together with Alejandro Restrepo that it should no longer continue. His departure is justified.

PABLO MIGUEZ
This was one of the performances that attracted the most attention from the blue and white fans, as the Uruguayan nationalized Peruvian was always available to the coaches and showed his heart in bad moments. Furthermore, he ended up being a starter, well above players like Carlos Zambrano or Santiago García, who had come to the club to make an impact. The “Cotorra” played 31 games this year, hardly suffered any injuries and could have served as a replacement for Restrepo.
CRISTIAN BENAVENTE
Benavente started the 2022 season with great fanfare and, despite not playing as much as he would have liked, scored important goals. However, he did not play in 2023 as he spent the entire year recovering from ankle surgery. With this in mind, Alejandro Restrepo has decided not to take this into account, making it a sporting justification.

ANDRES ANDRADE
Although the “Rifle” did not have a good start at all, he managed to secure a place in the starting eleven and was a figure in several games, such as the historic win against Libertad in Paraguay. However, a knee injury has so far prevented him from playing in the middle of the season and his return could not come until March or April of the following season. He only played 16 games this year and only two in the Clausura tournament. In this sense, his departure is justified.
GINO PERUZZI
This has to be one of the most controversial departures as Gino Peruzzi has become the undisputed starter since his arrival in Peru and there has been no better right-back than him this season. He was instrumental in winning the crown in 2022, but unfortunately injuries played tricks on him and he was unable to repeat his performances in 2023. He played 25 games that year. His departure will be justified as long as they can bring in someone better than the Argentine.

CHRISTIAN CUEVA
At the moment, Alianza Lima has not yet made the departure of Christian Cueva official, but the fact is that “Aladino” will no longer continue in an intimate business. The midfielder for the national team came like a “bomb”, but his performances left a lot to be desired, he was never in optimal condition. It was also revealed that he played injured, did not want to undergo surgery and only provided one assist and scored a single goal in the 27 games he played. His departure is more than justified.
