After the end of the ceasefire, Hamas again bombs central Israel. According to the terrorist organization, Tel Aviv was the target of the attacks. Israel confirmed the attacks and an air alert was issued in the coastal metropolis. The Israeli civil defense app warned of dozens of attacks. Eyewitnesses reported dull explosions in central Tel Aviv. There are still no reports of victims. Additionally, rocket alarms were sounded several times in locations near the Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli army, rockets were also fired from Lebanon into the north of the country. From there, the Shiite militia Hezbollah, heavily armed by Iran, attacks. Expansion of the land offensive?
Meanwhile, there are growing signs that Israel is expanding its offensive into the southern Gaza Strip. The military dropped leaflets urging people to leave their homes east of the southern city of Khan Yunis, according to Gaza residents. The location south of the coastal strip is now a combat zone.
The Israeli army called on civilians in Gaza to follow its orders. It published an interactive map in Arabic that shows the area divided into compartments to allow residents to “orient themselves, understand directions and arrive safely from specific locations if necessary.”
So far, Israel has focused its attacks mainly on the north of the Gaza Strip and has urged residents to flee south to escape the bombardment.
Aid deliveries blocked?
As reported by Portal news agency, citing Egyptian security sources, trucks transporting aid and fuel to the Gaza Strip were stopped at the Rafah border crossing. Representatives of humanitarian organizations confirm this information.
Rafah was the only border crossing through which aid supplies could enter the Gaza Strip by land. During the ceasefire, hundreds of trucks brought humanitarian aid to the area, including the northern part.
More ceasefire demanded
The United Nations condemned the continuation of hostilities and called for another ceasefire. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote on Platform X: “I deeply regret that military operations have resumed in Gaza.” He hopes the pause in fighting can be extended again.
Qatar, which is acting as a mediator in the war, lamented the resumption of fighting and said efforts to renew the ceasefire continued. A senior Hamas member told broadcaster Al-Jazeera that they were ready to release more civilian hostages as long as there was a new ceasefire.
According to the Israeli Coordination Center for Missing and Abducted Persons, there are still 137 hostages in the Gaza Strip, including eleven foreigners. The hostages include 20 women, two children under the age of 18 and ten people over the age of 75. Seven people have been missing since October 7th.
