Lupita Nyong’o and Oprah Winfrey look stunning as they lead the stars at the glamorous party for the Yellowstone creator’s new show Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Lupita Nyong’o and Oprah Winfrey turned heads at the Lawmen: Bass Reeves party in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The Oscar-winning actress, 40, stunned in a crop-top ensemble by Prada, while the 69-year-old TV host looked chic in a figure-hugging dress to watch Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s new Paramount+ series open.

Showing off her sculpted abs, Lupita stole heads in the dark gray strapless top, matching pants and jacket, while adding oversized designer sunglasses to the mix.

Oprah dared to impress with a leggy appearance as her couture gown featured a slit down the length of her gorgeous leggings.

The stunning beauties joined together on the red carpet at some point in the evening, wrapping their arms around each other and flashing their mega smiles.

The stunning stars were joined by a star-studded audience that included Gayle King, Niecy Nash, Demi Singleton and more.

The excited audience certainly had a lot to celebrate as the new western series set a record for Paramount+ as the show became the streamer’s most-watched series premiere worldwide this year, according to Deadline.

The first two episodes reached 7.5 million viewers worldwide in the first seven days.

Paramount Global reports that the total includes both Paramount+ viewership and the show’s broadcast preview on CBS.

This number surpasses Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ original viewership of 3.55 million viewers who watched either live or same-day during the back-to-back premieres on CBS, which is more than double the original viewership.

“Our goal at Yoruba Saxon is simple: to normalize the marginalized for a global audience,” said David Oyelowo, executive producer and star, in a statement.

“The international acceptance of Lawmen: Bass Reeves shows that borders are no limit to a new perspective on a great story.”

The show is inspired by the life of real-life lawman Bass Reeves, who was the first black deputy U.S. marshal west of the Mississippi.

The series follows Reeves (played by Oyelowo) as he hunts down refugees in the so-called “Indian Territory” in Arkansas, land set aside for Native Americans who were removed from their tribal lands and driven west by the U.S. government.

In addition to executive producer David Oyelowo, the cast includes Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Emmy Award winner Barry Pepper, honorary Oscar winner Donald Sutherland and Emmy Award nominee Dennis Quaid.

The ensemble also includes Shea Whigham and Garrett Hedlund as guest stars and in recurring roles Joaquina Kalukango, Lonnie Chavis, Grantham Coleman, Tosin Morohunfola, Dale Dickey, Rob Morgan, Ryan O’Nan, Margot Bingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Justin Hurtt-Dunkley and Bill Dawes.

Earlier this month, Paramount announced that it had greenlit two new spin-offs titled 1944 and 2024.

The latter series is believed to be a previously announced sequel to the flagship series starring Matthew McConaughey.

The actor was cast as a replacement for original Yellowstone lead Kevin Costner after he left the series at the end of Season 5 and the second half of the season has yet to be filmed.

Costner had reportedly clashed with Sheridan and Paramount executives over his desire for more money to film the remainder of the season and his request for significantly shorter filming times so that he could concentrate on filming his own two-part western. Epic could focus on horizon.

The other spin-off, 1944, will presumably be a sequel to the earlier film 1923, which stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Although Sheridan appears to be placing greater emphasis on using years as titles, both 1944 and 2024 are merely working titles that could change over time.
