The lessons from Taylor Swift’s film The Eras Tour are apparently being applied to the new Beyoncé performances. And that rubs some people the wrong way.

AMC has released a list of “helpful tips” for expected movie audiences to set expectations. The list is already receiving skeptical looks on social media and users are wondering whether the same standards apply to other concert films.

“We want to see your amazing outfits!” reads the website’s statement. “Feel free to take selfies and group photos to celebrate the occasion and the beautiful ensembles you have put together, but please DO NOT take photos or record footage while the film is playing. Be sure to post your photos on social media with #RENAISSANCETHEFILM.”

But the message gets a little less enthusiastic from there.

“If any parts of your outfit may block other viewers from the screen, please remove them at the beginning of the film (e.g. headpieces, wings, etc.) and please remember that masks (except for standard face masks, which are expressly excluded health and safety reasons) must be worn reasons) are not permitted.

It continues: “You know the words, you know the choreography – sing and dance with all your might, but please respect each other’s space and the theater equipment.” Do not dance on seats or interfere with other guests watching walking or leaving the auditorium safely.”

The AMC message advises, “Make yourself comfortable before things get crazy.” Save energy once you’re in the RENAISSANCE showroom. We want to make sure other AMC guests enjoy their moviegoing experience as much as you do.”

If you go to the bathroom before the movie, the message ends. And tickets are non-refundable.

Some observers were not pleased.

“Did they issue the same warnings before the Swift concert film?” asked user Mike Given.

“And they wonder why people don’t go to the movies anymore,” said user Punk’s Dead. “Give the people what they want. When we released the best movie of all time, Punk’s Dead, people were singing and dancing. It was fantastic.”

IAmHerr also chimed in. “Policing can’t stop, won’t stop, won’t stop.” “Help, the film industry is suffering.” Buy our tickets. No, not you. The person behind you.”
