Paraguay, official dismissed from government staff: he had signed an agreement with a country that does not exist

A Paraguayan government official has been replaced after it was revealed he had signed a memorandum of understanding with representatives of a fictitious country. The revelation has sparked a scandal in Paraguay – and much ridicule on social media – but it is not the first time that Kailasa’s self-appointed US officials have deceived international leaders. Earlier this year, they managed to attend a UN committee meeting in Geneva and also signed agreements with local leaders in the United States and Canada. This time it fell for Arnaldo Chamorro, who was replaced as chief of staff of the Paraguayan Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday for signing a “proclamation” with the United States representatives of Kailasa. The “Proclamation” of October 16 expressed, among other things, a “sincere wish and recommendation that the Government of Paraguay actively consider, consider and seek the establishment of diplomatic relations with the United States of Kailasa and the admission of Kailasa by the “We have admitted the sovereign and independent State to various international organizations, including, but not limited to, the United Nations,” said a copy of the agreement posted on social media.

The guru sought all over the world

Representatives of the fictional country met with Chamorro and Agriculture Minister Carlos Giménez, Chamorro said in a radio interview. During the interview, Chamorro admitted that he did not know where Kailasa was and said he had signed a so-called “memorandum of understanding” because representatives of that hypothetical country had offered to back Paraguay on a number of issues, including irrigation help. Photos posted on Kailasa’s social media accounts also show representatives of the fictional country signing agreements with local leaders of the communities of María Antonia and Karpai. Kailasa’s website describes the fictional country as a “rebirth of the ancient, enlightened nation of Hindu civilization, being revived by displaced Hindus around the world.” It is led by a self-proclaimed guru, Nithyananda, who is wanted in India on several charges, including sexual assault. His whereabouts are unknown.
