Gloria Allred, the celebrity lawyer who has taken on a number of high-profile cases involving women’s rights, is representing the girl at the center of the investigation into NBA star Josh Giddey.

The Oklahoma City Thunder player is being investigated by the police and the NBA for an alleged relationship with a minor.

Allred was quoted by TMZ Sports as saying, “We represent the family and have no comment.”

Giddey, 21, continues to play in the NBA while the allegations, which first surfaced on social media, are investigated.

Allred has previously represented women who accused Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct and women who accused former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner of sending sexually explicit photos.

Code Sports in Giddey’s native Australia said the Thunder guard believed the teenager was 19 when they met at a nightclub in 2021.

The New York Post claims to have identified the Oklahoma City nightclub where Giddey was filmed with the teenager and states that the establishment has an over-18 policy.

Giddey and his representatives declined to comment as the NBA continues to investigate the situation.

When a reporter asked Giddey about the allegations during a media skirmish, Giddey said he understood why the question was raised and said nothing further.

“Yeah, I mean, I obviously understand the question,” Giddey told the reporter. “But at the moment there is no further comment.”

Giddey has continued to play for the Thunder since the allegations came to light, and Thunder coach Mark Daigneault is also facing questions about the allegations.

“Just based on the information we have at this point, that’s the decision we made (to continue playing him),” Daigneault said. “To be honest, it’s not even a decision. “At this point it’s obviously a league matter, so the ball is in their court.”

Giddey was heavily booed in Minnesota during the Thunder’s 106-103 loss to the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
