The President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, announced this Tuesday evening through his social networks that he will not be present on the IX. Summit of the Americas, which will take place from June 6th to 10th in Los Angeles, USA, if he continues the exclusion of “fraternal peoples”.
“Consistent with the principles and values of the Plurinational State of #Bolivia, I reiterate that an Americas Summit that excludes American countries will not be a full Americas Summit, and if the exclusion of sister nations persists, I will not attend ‘ Arce wrote on his Twitter account.
The United States excluded Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua from the summit, arguing that their governments are undemocratic and do not respect the Americas’ Democratic Charter.
“Bolivia bases its international relations on the diplomacy of the peoples, with inclusion, solidarity, complementarity, respect for sovereignty, self-determination and the collective construction of the culture of dialogue and peace,” the president wrote in a second tweet.
