Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has joined the 100 crore club. Apart from Ranbir and Rashmika, Animal has a star cast with Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri and Shakti Kapoor playing important roles. In his post, Taran Adarsh wrote, “‘ANIMAL’ IS A BOX OFFICE MONSTER…#Animal goes WILD on day 2.” [Sat]…Metro, Non-Metro, Bulk Bags – the response is OUTSTANDING, the 2-day total is over ₹100 cr…”

In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave ‘Animal’ 1.5 stars. He wrote: “To justify that it is a man’s world, Animal presents two men who are as physically impaired as they are mentally scarred. You lose all sense of taste, smell and can no longer hear after suffering six gunshot wounds that bring your heart to the brink of collapse. The other cannot speak. He communicates with the help of a brother who acts as a sign language interpreter. When the two men meet at the climax, as such confrontations are common in revenge sagas of this kind, they take place on the tarmac of an airstrip. If you think that the physical deficiencies the feuding couple struggles with should be understood as a metaphor for what men like them lack, banish that thought. Everything the hero does to get his way is backed up with a vile justification. What motive could be greater, Animal seems to ask the audience, than a man’s desire to gain the attention of his absent-minded father?”

Sam Bahadur-starrer Vicky Kaushal’s Animal starred Vicky Kaushal in the lead role failed at the box office.
