It is one of the most awaited programs by Netflix subscribers. Following the success of Korean series Squid Game, the platform launched a reality TV version on November 22nd. The principle is the same: 456 candidates compete in children’s games to win an impressive prize pool ($4.56 million). Except that participants in the game are not killed when they are eliminated, but rather their deaths are indicated by ink in the program. While the program is already generating excitement on the platform, it has also increased its share of controversy. This went so far that some candidates threatened to file a complaint against the production, accusing it of favoring certain candidates and filming certain scenes under extreme conditions.

Furthermore, as The Cinemaholic points out, this is the case with most shows that aim to win a large sum of money, such as Fear Factor or Too Hot to Handle (High Voltage Seduction). However, the media suggests so Participants had to be paid for transport to the filming location (a hangar in north London) and of course for support during the recording (very long for certain scenes).
