Usher Breaks Down During Final Las Vegas Performance: “I Love You” – Entertainment Weekly News

Usher did it his way – just like Frank Sinatra, another Vegas icon, before him.

The 45-year-old superstar wrapped up his My Way Las Vegas stay on Saturday and was overcome with emotion.

In a fan-made videoThe 45-year-old and still successful singer falls to his knees crying during a performance of “Without You” surrounded by dancers and the crew of his show. As soon as he was able to compose himself, Usher began singing David Guetta’s 2011 banger a cappella alongside his band and the audience.

“God bless you, I love you,” he said to the crowd, ending the residency that began in July 2022.

On the “Confessions” singer’s social media divided a 2004 video of him talking about the potential of his appearances at a Vegas show, which in 2004 was still seen as something of a last resort for artists in the final years of their careers.

“I’m such a theater artist,” Usher says in the clip. “If I decided to go to Las Vegas, it would be the most phenomenal thing you’ve ever seen in your life.”

He continued, “It wouldn’t be like saying, ‘Oh God, he’s exhausted and this is just his opportunity to collect as many checks as he wants.’ No. It’s going to be a phenomenal show.”

He captioned the post, “I saw it then…look at me now.”

And he’s just getting started. Usher will next headline the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show on February 11, the same day he will release his ninth studio album, Coming Home.

“It is the honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl appearance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement back in September. “I can’t wait to give the world a show like they’ve never seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity possible. We’ll see each other soon.”
