Díaz Canel highlights meetings with Cuban employees in Qatar

Tehran, December 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today described as emotional the meeting he held with 300 health workers from the Caribbean country in Qatar a few hours before his departure to Iran on an official visit.

“An emotional exchange with 300 health workers concluded the fruitful visit, which resulted in mutually beneficial agreements,” the President emphasized on the digital platform.

According to the newspaper, the meeting took place following the Cuban President’s tour of the “Duckhan Cuban Hospital”, considered a reference in the region and which has earned several recognitions.

At the meeting, Díaz-Canel emphasized the impact of the work of Cuban collaborators on the Qatari people and humanity.

The President reported on his visit to the Arab nation as well as the current situation of the Caribbean country, which is in a complex economic situation.

He also recalled the period of fighting Covid-19, in particular the development of his own vaccines “which saved an entire people”.

“This shows the value of Cuban medicine, the Cuban health system,” said the dignitary, who praised the staff’s preparation.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state received as a gift a plaque with the map of Qatar, given to him by the Hamad Medical Corporation, a company that includes all the public hospitals in the Arab country under his command.

The Cuban President arrived this Sunday in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the last stop of his tour through the countries of the Middle East, which also included official visits to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
