More than 700 dead in Gaza alone in the last 24 hours

More than 700 people died in the last 24 hours, victims of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the Islamist group Hamas, which controls the Palestinian enclave, reported on Sunday.

“The Israeli occupation has killed more than 700 Palestinian citizens in the last 24 hours and more than 1.5 million Palestinians are displaced in the Gaza Strip,” he announced on his official Telegram channel.

Hours before Hamas released this information, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al Qudra reported that in the first 36 hours alone after the end of the ceasefire on Friday morning, 193 Gazans died and another 652 were injured in “dozens of Israeli massacres. “

“The Israeli occupation continues to escalate its attacks against civilians after the end of the ceasefire and has not left an inch of the strip without bombing,” he commented.

In total, there have been 15,207 dead and 40,652 injured since the start of the war; 70% of the victims were children and women. Furthermore, according to the latest figures released by Gaza, almost 80% of the Strip’s 2.3 million residents have become internally displaced as a result of the Israeli offensive.

“During the night, air force warplanes and helicopters attacked terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip, including terror tunnels, command centers and weapons depots,” the military spokesman said in a statement.

“In addition, a drone led by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) ground forces eliminated five Hamas terrorists,” the text said.

According to the army, its troops also attacked from the sea in the last 24 hours, destroying “terrorist infrastructure” of the Islamist group Hamas as well as the organization’s “weapons and ships.”

This announcement comes in parallel with a message from the Israeli army’s Arabic spokesman, Avichay Adraee, through his account on the social network enclave.

“Dear residents of the Gaza Strip, the IDF has resumed its vigorous actions against Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. To ensure your safety, we kindly inform you of the following,” Adraee wrote alongside a list of neighborhoods accompanied by a map detailing where each area’s population should be evacuated.

“Following evacuation instructions is the safest way to protect your safety, your lives and that of your families. If Hamas members are still preventing you, please contact us via social media,” the message continued.
