We publish the transcript of the interview given to Tucker Carlson by the new Argentine President Javier Milei. The words about Pope Francis are very harsh.
I think you are, as you said, a Catholic and defend the principles of Catholic life. The current Pope is Argentine. The Pope criticized her and she called him “a communist.” Why?
Francis “is a pope who has strong political influence. He also showed a great affinity for dictators like Castro and Maduro.
Wait: Do you think the Pope has an affinity for Raul Castro?
“Yes, he has an affinity for murderous communists. In fact, he doesn’t condemn them. I mean, he’s pretty condescending towards them. And he is also condescending towards the Venezuelan dictatorship. I mean, he’s condescending to all murderers, even if they’re real criminals. That’s a problem. But he is also someone for whom social justice is a central part of his vision. And “social justice” means stealing the fruits of one person’s labor and giving them to another person. So it implies two things. The first is robbery, and robbery violates the Ten Commandments. This means that anyone who supports social justice supports theft. The other problem is that this is a legal unequal treatment. And it doesn’t seem right to me that a position of power like that of the state, which has a monopoly on violence, rewards some and punishes others.”

Are you praying for wisdom and guidance?
“Well, I feel like a lot of people are praying for me. It makes me very happy that so many people in Israel, for example, go to the Western Wall to pray for me. So, I feel good. But other than that, I’m confident in what I’m doing. A life without freedom has no reason to be lived. At some point they asked me if I was ready to give my life for freedom. And I’m ready to give it. And I try to be a witness to this lifestyle: living in freedom. Slavery seems terrible to me. And I want to give this fight for freedom everything I can give, with the consequences that will follow. Because doing the right thing is not a matter of negotiation. What I want to make clear is that the socialists have blood on their hands…”
Are you saying that socialists have blood on their hands because they believe they are God?
“They believe they are God. They are heretics. In his last book, Hayek called it “the fatal imagination.” In another article, in which Hayek formulated Adam Smith’s idea of the invisible hand more scientifically and deeply, he states that for the application of socialism it is necessary for people to be omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. That is, they believe that they are God. And I’ll tell you something: I’m not God. And I’ll tell you something worse: politicians are so miserable and disturbing, especially the left, that they are below the average population. Who claims to be on par with the average population? Only what’s underneath. Murder is a mortal sin from which nothing good can come. Nothing good can come from murder. Nothing good can come from theft. Back to Pope Francis: Why does he advocate an agenda that defends murder, theft and envy? It’s strange, isn’t it?”
So why is he doing this?
“I think he should answer. Because in the light of the debate, in the light of the empirical evidence, he must explain why he defends an economic organization that leads to poverty, misery, violence and decadence and which, if allowed to thrive, would destroy the world. He will explain. I’m not a socialist. I’m a liberal, a libertarian.”
