Not even the stars Jornal Hoje and JN were spared from the wave of layoffs at Globo
Known for its serious approach to journalism, Globo stands out for investing significantly in the sector, building solid credibility in the market.
The broadcaster has already trained numerous professionals in the region, but has also made cuts, like in April when it laid off some important names, Notícias da TV reported.
According to information, Globo simultaneously fired three experienced journalists: César Galvão and Fábio Turci, both reporters from São Paulo, and Fábio William, former reporter at Jornal Nacional and presenter at DF1.
César Galvão, known for his appearances on Jornal Hoje, was a popular figure with the newspaper’s lunchtime audience. Meanwhile, Fábio Turci was working as a special correspondent for Jornal Nacional, and Fábio William was already working as a presenter for JH in addition to his experience as a reporter for JN.
In a statement to Notícias da TV, Globo commented on the cuts: “Globo, like other reference companies in the market, is permanently committed to the search for efficiency and further development, but regrets the departure of professionals who helped write and tell your story. However, this is part of the dynamics of any company.”
