Authorities on the island of Dominica announced Monday morning that they had arrested a fourth suspect in the case. the murders of Quebec entrepreneur Daniel Langlois and his wife Dominique Marchandwhich occurred in the Caribbean in recent days.

“Four suspects are in custody. One local and three foreigners,” National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmore confirmed on Monday morning in a statement sent to the media about the investigation into the deaths of the two Quebecers.

“We cannot ignore this type of crime and the brutality of this crime, and we cannot tolerate that those who committed it are not brought to justice,” he continued.

The investigation into the death of the co-owners of Coulibri Ridge Eco Resort, an ecological hotel complex, began on December 1st.

At around 7 a.m. their bodies were found in a vehicle set on fire in Dominica.

The authorities could have identified the Quebecers based on circumstantial evidence.

Since then, four people have been arrested by Dominican authorities.

According to our information, one of them is the American Jonathan Lehrer, owner of the property right next to the victim’s.

According to court documents seen by Le Journal, the latter was in conflict with Mr Langlois and his wife over a right of way on his land.

The involvement of a contract killer is only speculation at this point in the investigation, a police source said.

In addition, the Minister of National Security reiterated that the authorities would issue updates as soon as they had the opportunity and that this type of crime was harmful to international relations.
