CONMEBOL has announced that the 2024 Copa America will take place in 14 stadiums in 10 different regions of the United States.
The tournament, running from June 20 to July 14, 2024, will take place in 10 states on the East Coast, Central Zone and West Coast.
The opening game is scheduled to kick off at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and the final is scheduled to take place at the renowned Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Alejandro Dominguez, President of CONMEBOL and Vice President of FIFA, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event and said: “We will have an unforgettable CONMEBOL Copa America and enjoy the best football in the world in 14 magnificent stadiums.”
“The passion for football will travel across this great country from east to west and north to south, bringing emotion and fun to hundreds of thousands of fans in venues and millions of other spectators around the world.”
Victor Montagliani, president of CONCACAF and vice-president of FIFA, added: “The venues are world-class and have passionate fans who are known for supporting major events.”
“The exciting prospect of co-hosting the 2024 Copa America with our partners at CONMEBOL, as well as the variety of CONCACAF competitions we will offer over the next three years, will position our region as a global center for football in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup consolidate.” “
A total of 32 games will be played with 16 teams – ten from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF.
