Kate Moss makes a rare public appearance with model daughter Lila as they head home after separate red carpet appearances at the British Fashion Awards

Kate Moss was in familiar company on Monday evening as she headed home after a red carpet appearance at the British Fashion Awards.

The supermodel was joined by daughter Lila for a rare public appearance together after posing separately at the annual ceremony.

Kate, 49, opted for a black evening dress with a daring thigh-high slit and made sure to turn heads as she made her way to a waiting car outside London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Industry leaders will be honored, including Valentino Garavani with the Outstanding Achievement Award, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury with the Special Recognition Award and the late Joe Casely-Hayford with a posthumous Special Recognition Award.

South Londoner Kai Isaiah Jamal has been nominated for the Model of the Year award alongside the likes of Paloma Elsesser and Alton Mason.

The event serves as the primary fundraising event for the BFC Foundation. The company supports the future growth and success of the UK fashion industry through its focus on education, funding and business mentoring.

For the first time since the pandemic, the BFC also handed out some gender-specific design awards, dividing the best British designers into men’s and women’s clothing categories.

It was announced on Friday that British singer Sam Smith would accept the Cultural Innovator Award on stage.

Guests have already included Rihanna, Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa, and Bella Hadid was named 2022 Model of the Year.

Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, said: “It is vital that the awards reflect our incredibly diverse industry and its brands and creatives.”
