According to a document submitted by the Israeli army, the terrorists had detailed information about the layout of the compound, the soldiers’ weapons and the security system.
It is undeniable that Hamas carefully prepared its deadly attack. On October 7, its militiamen murdered more than 1,200 people, the vast majority of them civilians. According to an intelligence source quoted by the Guardian, he even had an informant in Israel who provided him with plans for a military base near the Gaza Strip. Without “internal knowledge,” such details could not have been provided, according to the IDF, which recovered numerous documents in Hamas caches and on the bodies of terrorists neutralized after their raid.
Some were presented to the press this Monday. Most of them cannot be described precisely enough so as not to endanger ongoing operations. However, an original handwritten plan was revealed detailing how to occupy a command post on the Gaza border. It lists in detail the weapons available to soldiers as well as the precise, hand-drawn security system.
Another document, described by the IDF as a “hostage-taking checklist,” calls for “killing those who cause trouble or attempt to escape” in detention rooms. Finally, he recommends using Hebrew expressions phonetically translated from Arabic words such as “Raise your hands and spread your legs” or “Take off your clothes.”

But also references to the military locations and the most important points that must be taken in the center of Israel in the event of a breakthrough into the heart of the Hebrew state. The militiamen carried phones with local SIM cards and Israeli walkie-talkies, but also a radio transmitter with a solar battery to maintain contact over long periods of time.
Many of the items recovered from the cars used by Hamas in its attack were personal or family memorabilia. The Israeli army also recovered a map of a bullet-ridden part of Gaza showing previously unknown Hamas military sites.
