Apparently Corey Perry owes the Chicago Blackhawks around $1 million after his contract ends.
Last week, TSN reported that the 38-year-old veteran was eligible for one of the $4 million on the one-year deal he signed last July. This is explained by the fact that he played about 25% of the season. The problem is that Perry received $2 million, thanks in part to a signing bonus.

However, if he wanted to keep that money, the attacker would have 60 days to file a complaint through the National League Players Association. According to a union spokesman, the matter is currently under review.
Perry’s contract was terminated on Wednesday following an incident the previous week.
The actions the former Montreal Canadiens are accused of occurred during an event attended by Blackhawks sponsors and employees. The day after, the Chicago club faced the Blue Jackets in Columbus and Perry was not part of his team’s lineup. He didn’t return to the team after that.
The hockey player, who has 1,273 years of experience in the Bettman circuit, apologized in a press release posted on social media on Thursday. He is currently a free agent.
Perry recorded four goals and five assists for nine points in 16 games with the Blackhawks.
