‘Dunki’ was supposed to be a solo release until Prashanth Neel and Prabhas decided to release ‘Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire’ on the same day. Due to post-production issues, they were forced to postpone their film from its original date of September 28th. Pre-sales for both films in India are still pending, but in the US, pre-sales have opened for limited theatrical screenings. Salaar’s trailer was released on December 1st and became one of the most viewed trailers in history. The trailer of Dunki is expected to be released today (December 5).
Ticket sales on Dunki began on a limited basis in November, but were discontinued for certain reasons and are available again for the time being. The latest figures suggest the film has sold tickets at around 125 locations across 351 showings, but only 30 tickets have been sold so far. The number is expected to rise sharply with the release of the trailer. The makers have already released a teaser and two songs from the film. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani, while Salaar stars Prithviraj, Tinnu Anand and Shruti Haasan.
