The actor made a surprise appearance at a film and television awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday night and said he had “been through a lot.”

“It’s crazy. Six months ago I couldn’t even do this, I couldn’t walk,” he told the audience, without specifying the type of health problem that affected him.

Jamie Foxx, whose real name is Eric Marlon Bishop, spoke out for the first time in a video in July, claiming he had “come back from hell.”

The 55-year-old actor suffered a “medical complication” and was admitted to a medical facility in the southern US state of Georgia in April, where he was filming a film for Netflix.

His daughter Corinne Foxx was eager to dispel the rumors a month later, assuring on Instagram that her father “was out of the hospital for several weeks and was recovering.”

Jamie Foxx notably won the 2005 Oscar for Best Actor for his breathtaking portrayal of soul legend singer Ray Charles in the biopic “Ray.”

That same year, he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in “Collateral” and also made an impact playing a slave who conquers his freedom in Quentin Tarantino’s western “Django Unchained.”

In November, a sexual assault lawsuit was filed against Jamie Foxx in New York for alleged acts in 2015.
