My pick for December 6th is…Edmonton Oilers vs. Carolina Hurricanes! When I made this bet, the odds in decimal format were between 1.87 and 1.91.
This pick isn’t supported by any of my 10 NHL betting systems, but I want to tell you why I like it.
The Oilers are on a four-game winning streak and have outscored their opponents 21-7.
Their last loss was against the Hurricanes 6-3 on November 22nd. The Oilers will be out for revenge.

Historically, Carolina does well against Edmonton, with a record of 7-2 in their last nine meetings, including a 4-1 win in Edmonton. This is a cause for concern.
Additional motivation
This game is the first of six home games for the Oilers, who are trying to improve to .500 after a poor start this season.
The Hurricanes’ dominance over the Oilers should provide additional motivation for the home team to start this home series with a win and extend the current streak to four in a row.
The Oilers have one key advantage: rest. Her last performance took place on November 30th. The Hurricanes, for their part, suffered a 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Monday.
With the extra practice time and the injury rehab, I expect the Oilers to be ready on Wednesday night.
For these reasons, I’m rooting for the Edmonton Oilers at home against the Carolina Hurricanes.
